Meet our Staff
Doctors



Dr. Kelly Willard is the owner of Hudson Veterinary Hospital. She earned her veterinary degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007 and completed her clinical year at Virginia Tech.
In addition to her work at the hospital, Dr. Willard serves as a Major in the United States Army Reserve Veterinary Corps and has been deployed several times.
Dr. Willard and her husband, Ryan—our practice manager and the head girls soccer coach at Streetsboro High School—have two daughters and live in Cuyahoga Falls with their rescued Lab mix, Scarlet.
In her spare time, Dr. Willard enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and running the Boston Marathon each year.
Dr. Lisa Van Nieuwal was one of HVH’s orginal veterinarians with Dr. Roberts in the late 1990’s. In aditon She has over 10 years of experience as an emergency medicine veterinarian at MedVet Akron.
She earned her veterinary degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine after completing her undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech.
Dr. Lisa shares her home with quite a crew: five dogs—Fanny, Frihole, and Thinamin the Chugs, Froggy the French Bulldog, and Theo the Chihuahua—as well as three cats, Alphie, Evil, and B. She also owns a Dutch Warmblood horse named Cienta, whom she rides regularly in dressage competitions.
Outside of work, Dr. Lisa enjoys horseback riding, skiing, and hiking. She lives in Hudson.
Dr. Nicole Dureiko first joined our team as a veterinary assistant in 2021 before earning her veterinary degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 2026. We are thrilled to welcome her back to our staff as a veterinarian!
Outside of work, Dr. Dureiko enjoys spending time with her three Shih Tzu mix pups—Piggy, Monkey, and Skittles—as well as her cats, Wolf and Shrimp. She loves hiking, camping, and exploring the outdoors, and is currently teaching herself how to crochet. Dr. Dureiko lives in Aurora.
Practice Managers



Ryan assumed the role of practice manager in January 2019 when he and his wife Dr. Kelly Willard became the owners of Hudson Veterinary Hospital and later Boston Heights Veterinary Hospital. Ryan coordinates meetings and oversees paperwork and financial matters for the hospital. He and Dr. Willard have two daughters and two rescue dogs named Scarlet and Theo. Ryan was formerly a high school biology and anatomy teacher and has served as the girls’ soccer coach at Streetsboro High School since 2008. When he is not working or coaching, Ryan loves to play golf, softball, and soccer, and enjoys traveling with his family.
Karrie started working in the office at Hudson Veterinary Hospital in 1997. She is the co-practice manager with Ryan. She is responsible for all accounts receivable as well as overseeing the front office and all hospital staff. She and her husband Clay live in Stow with their two adult children and Devon Rex cat Hash Brown. Karrie is very involved in family and friend activities.
Meet Cat von D, the self-appointed queen of Boston Heights Veterinary Hospital and our official “supervisor of the supervisors.” After raising one precious litter of kittens, she decided BHVH was the perfect place to call home forever. These days, Cat von D spends her time keeping the staff in line, judging everyone with her wide eyes, and making sure every corner of the hospital meets her very high standards. Equal parts spicey and in charge, she truly runs the place—we all just work here!
Technicians



Denise earned her degree in Veterinary Technology from Columbus State Community College. She joined the Boston Heights Veterinary Hospital family in 1999. Denise enjoys spending time with her husband, David, and their young son. They share their home with a plethora of rescued animals, including three dogs: Jura, Riki and Patronus and four cats: Alastor, Booma, TK and Trixie.
Beth started at Hudson Veterinary Hospital in 2002 and works at both hospitals now. She oversees all OSHA regulations and keeps careful records of our controlled substances. She also assists with appointments and surgeries, and completes all overseas pet transport paperwork for our clients. Beth volunteers as a trail monitor with the Metroparks Service and enjoys going to comic book conventions. Beth lives in Twinsburg with her two rescued kitties Spot and Biscuit.
Noah began working at Hudson Vet in Spring 2024. She is a veterinary assistant, helping the doctors with appointments and surgeries. Noah was a kennel attendant previously in Norton and is working on her associate’s degree in science at Stark State currently. She has a labradoodle named Champion. In her free time, Noah enjoys reading and travelling. She and Champion live in Lakemore.
Receptionists



Whitney became part of our family in July of 2016. She has always had an affinity for animals. She currently has 2 dogs (Kyole and Rocky) and 2 cats (Gypsy and Raven). Outside of the office she enjoys spending time with her son. She is excited to work in a field where the learning never ends!
Kathy joined our Staff in August 2015. She has always had a passion for animals having had variety of pets including exotic birds, guinea pigs, hamsters and of course dogs and cats. She enjoys walks with her Golden Retrievers “Rosie” and “Myles” and cuddles with her four cats. She and her husband Tony have four children.
Groomer and Kennel



Tyler is the kennel manager at BHVH and has been with us since 2023. His duties include feeding, medicating, cleaning, and playing with pets in our kennel, as well as walking, scheduling, and maintaining records for our boarders. He has been a volunteer at the Ravenna APL for the past year and enjoys working with animals. Tyler has five dogs: Sasha – Boxer/Pit mix, Bailey – German Shepherd/Lab mix, Callie – Lab mix, Harley – Victorian English Bulldog, and Lucy – Corgi Pembroke. He also has four cats Pumpkin, Cinnamon, Kylo and Bella. Tyler enjoys snowboarding, being out in nature and tattoos and lives in Akron.
Ali joined our kennel staff in 2023. She helps with distributing diets, fun playtime, and general hospital cleaning. Ali has three dogs at home – Millie a Miniature Pinscher, Suki an Australian Shepherd, Zoey a blue-nosed Pitty. In her free time, Ali enjoys running, lifting weights, and riding roller coasters. She lives in Cuyahoga Falls.
Lisa is an animal lover with over 20 years experience in grooming. She has worked at the Boston Heights Veterinary Hospital since 1989. She has a husband, two beautiful girls, a cat and a dog. Her hobbies are gardening, journaling and digital photography.
